Silk Scarves
My Hand Painted Scarves
Pure white silk is washed and stretched across a wooden frame. The dyes are applied by hand in different steps to give greater depth of color and create subtle changes. Resists may be used to outline a design or to embellish it. When the silk is dry, it is rolled up in white newsprint, steamed to fix the colors permanently and to enhance the feel and finish of the silk.
Care Instructions:
Hand wash separately in cold water. Rinse well. While the material is still damp, iron on reverse side, placing an ironing cloth between the scarf and the iron. The black and metallic release may stick to the iron if ironing cloth is not used.
The silk may also be dry cleaned.
